My Story………

In 2006 I started an engineering consultancy business primarily supporting the Oil, Petrochemical and Power industries, I was fortunate to travel all over world working with and meeting some amazing people. As a keen cyclist and runner spending so much time away from home, I found myself frequenting the hotel gyms on a regular basis.

Fast forward to 2011 a cycling friend and I had just finished a training ride, we sat down in our favourite coffee shop and started talking about current affairs and generally “putting the world to rights”. We discussed the interest and uprising of cycling and the possibility that one day the Tour de France may come to the UK because of that growing popularity. By the time we had finished our coffee and fruit scone we had decided we should set up a business selling bikes.

In 2020 when the first announcement that the UK was to go into lock down due to COVID it was advised that cycling shops were amongst those business’s that could remain open. Whilst for the next 2 years there was a constant demand for bikes and cycling attire others were not so fortunate and many high street businesses where being forced to close due to product availability, rising costs, and shipping delays.

2022 saw Auction, Liquidation and Wholesale warehouses full of unwanted or recovered quality products, with the experience I gained within the retail industry over the last 11 years that’s when I (with the help of my wife) decided to begin NRG Home & Leisure, an E Commerce online retail business buying and selling quality products at affordable prices.
